Our First Fundraiser & Member Survey Results
Open The Taps has been busy and we'd like to tell you about two important events: first, our fundraiser with Southern Star, and second, the results of our survey and what this means for our legislative agenda.
Sunday, February 12th, Open The Taps hosted our first major fundriaser! Southern Star Brewing graciously hosted us for an afternoon while local band, Folk Family Revival, played live music. Coreanos Texas, a new food truck in Houston provided some awesome tacos and tamales for everyone to enjoy. We had a silent auction with great items from Texas breweries and businesses. At the end of the day, we raised just over $3,000! We are very grateful to everyone for attending and spending their Sunday afternoon with us. We especially would like to thank our newest sponsors, Southern Star and Coreanos! Check out the Sponsors page to see all of our awesome supporters!
A few weeks ago we sent out a survey to all of our 100 for $100 members; we asked them to rank 8 issues by how important it was to them personally, as well as asked them some basic voting questions. We have collected the results and will be using this data to form our legislative agenda moving into next year. While we would love to tackle all 8 issues, we don't think it would be possible or effective to do so at this time. As we move forward we will be posting our final agenda and how we are going to accomplish these goals, and how you as members and followers can help Texas become more craft beer friendly. For now, here are the results of the member survey:
Next, we asked the members to rank 8 issues by importance to them.
